Taste of Art: Women in the Collections
Delve into the world of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking inspired by Elizabeth David’s trailblazing cookbook, A Book of Mediterranean Food. Participants learn to make seafood paella, gazpacho, and an elderflower gin fizz, while hearing about David’s influence on postwar English cooking, when olive oil was sold in apothecaries, basics were rationed, and fresh produce was only a fantasy. She has been long acknowledged as the culinary inspiration for Julia Child and Claudia Roden.
