We invite you for a closer look at an all-new program that inspires curiosity, conversation, and creativity. This program begins with an in-gallery talk and overview  of the exhibit "Science and the Sublime" by curator of British Art, Melinda McCurdy, and concludes with a guided sketching session in the galleries with artist instructor Richard Scott. All supplies and materials will be provided.

Richard Scott is a painter, teacher and writer. Scott teaches drawing and painting at The Huntington in San Marino, the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, and art workshops throughout the U.S. and Europe. For 20 years he has taught at numerous universities including Cal Poly Pomona, UCLA, Art Center, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Scott has written for various art and design magazines and in 2013 published a compendium on drawing called Sketching – from Square One to Trafalgar Square. He resides in Sierra Madre, California.
