Roger Medearis: His Regionalism

American painter Roger Medearis is the focus of this exhibition including more than 30 paintings, prints, drawings, letters and photographs, tracing the artist’s career from his beginnings as a student of Thomas Hart Benton through the development of his own distinctive style.

Desert Garden curator Gary Lyons will be the keynote speaker at this year’s symposium. Other presentations will highlight succulent conservation in South America and Mexico, the diversity of Crassulaceae in South Africa, and an “around the world” travelogue by Myron Kimnach, curator emeritus of the Botanical Gardens. Program also includes continental breakfast, silent auction, Desert Garden and Desert Conservatory special hours, and lunch. Optional dinner available.
