Visitors explored the folk arts of China in a day-long event that celebrated the approach of the Lunar New Year. Artists from Guangdong Province, China, demonstrated ancient crafts such as intricate paper cutting, figurine sculpting, jewelry making, and embroidery. Guests also enjoyed a contemporary photography exhibition and savored the flavors of authentic Chinese cuisine.

The Chinese Cultural Arts Celebration is made possible in part by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture, Beauty Media Inc., and ICN TV Network. East West Bank was the sole corporate sponsor of The Huntington's Chinese New Year events. Additional funding was provided by the Justin Vajna Memorial Fund for Educational Programs in the Chinese Garden.
