 Cross-Collections Experience

Students will enjoy selections from our expansive art collections, library and gardens to explore how and why people collect. During this 90-minute, volunteer-facilitated experience, students are guided through close looking, critical thinking and collaborative meaning-making. Selections on the tour rotate regularly and are according to volunteer expertise – students might step in to the world of Henry and Arabella Huntington, explore the connection between nature and culture, or consider collecting through the lens of science discovery! Students will connect with the Huntington’s collections and leave with a sense of how collecting remains relevant today. K-12 appropriate.
