Land of Golden Dreams:
California in the Gold Rush Decade
1848-1858

Land of Golden Dreams commemorated the 150th anniversary of the discovery of gold in California. This exhibition, which was on display in the Library from September 1999 to September 2000, paid special attention to the many dreams inspired by the sudden discovery of California's golden possibilities, and the conflicting aspirations that those dreams frequently represented. The exhibition included many original documents and photographs and online lesson plans.

Garden Tour

See sixteen 360° images of the gardens using Apple QuickTime Virtual Reality. These panoramic views, along with descriptions of the gardens and collections, are a wonderful introduction to The Huntington.
