Echinopsis 'Dragon Lady'  

Flower to 4 ½ inches (11 cm) across. Petals slender obovate, recurved even at cool temperatures, ruffled, dark red to magenta with deep reddish glow in the basal portions, midrib pure red. Throat-circle pinkish. Filaments dark purplish-red. Stigma green. Stem to 3 ½ inches (9 cm) in diameter; central spines forbidding, curved, to more than 1 ½ inches (42 mm) long. These are easily broken off and some may be detached upon shipment. ISI 99-6; HBG 82618, Schick 1236-64.
