Additions and Corrections to Previous Offerings

Kalanchoe ‘Hybrida’ variegatedISI 2003-32.  Kalanchoe ‘Hybrida’ variegated.  Last year we published a new name for this plant that Steve Jankalski pointed out was a variegated form of K. ‘Houghton’s Hybrid’ (K. daigremontiana × K. delagoensis).  Gordon Rowley brought to my attention Harry Mak’s Photo Album of Succulents, Vol. 3 (2003) in which I noticed that Mak had already named this cultivar K. ‘Pink Butterflies’, a fitting allusion to the appearance of the plantlets that line the leaf margins. See photo. This name has priority over Jankalski’s K. ‘Pink Sparkler’.

ISI 2003-39.  Uncarina sp. nov.  has been described as U. ankaranensis Ihlenfeldt (KuaS 55(6):148-154, 2004.

ISI 2006-6.  Mammillaria schumannii var. globosa Wolf.  Othmar Appenzeller points out that this name was validly published in KuaS 38(6):147, 1987.

ISI 2006-19.  Euphorbia erythrocucullata Mangelsdorff.  Frank Vincentz points out the correct spelling of the author’s name is as it appears here.

ISI 2006-33.  Yucca glauca var. glauca.  Bob Nold of Lakewood, CO, where this species grows wild, reports that my statement of its hardiness was overly conservative.  Rather than being hardy to a mere 0°F, a more accurate limit would be -40°F!
