ISI 2003-9. Agave karatto Miller.
This is an imposing Caribbean species with 8-10'-wide rosettes of dull-grass-green leaves that have a slight polish on the inner surface. The numerous bulbils that form on its paniculate inflorescence after flowering are correspondingly robust―most are ready for a 6" pot as soon as they fall! Bulbils of HBG 34510, a plant collected by M. Kimnach (1619) in Nov., 1974, on the island of St. Kitts. It grew on a hill just SE of Basseterre with Melocactus intortus and Opuntia. $5.
