Illuminart Nightlights From
The Huntington Art Collections

These nightlights are developed from photographic quality reproductions of original works of art, wedged between two pieces of glass and enclosed in a black metal frame. A clip holding the nightlights base and bulb is glued securely to the back and the product is finished with a reflector. Non-flammable PVC circles the back to reflect light evenly over the image. THE ARABELLA HUNTINGTON BOOKMARK

Point de gaze (gauze lace) from Belgium was one of the most delicate and expensive laces available in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A typical example from Arabella's collection combines naturalistic flowers and geometric motifs in a dense pattern on a light, airy reseau (netting) scattered with poix (dots). A thick cordonnet (outlining thread) held down by buttonhole stitching gives the fine lace a prized three-dimensional quality.

The Arabella Huntington Bookmark is based on this selection of lace.

THE HUNTINGTON LIBRARY BOOKMARK

Henry Huntington was interested in book collecting nearly all of his life. His ambition was to build a preeminent research library with collections concentrating on British and American history and literature. From 1911 to 1925, Mr. Huntington acquired so many entire libraries that his collection was known as the "library of libraries."

Two styles of bookmarks have been produced based on sections of the Library doors. The bookmarks are photo-etched in solid brass and have a brushed and antiqued lacquer finish. The bookmark is packaged with a card featuring a picture of Henry Huntington in front of his bronze library doors. Detailed information about The Huntington Library is on the reverse.
